were there again...

The DraHEnknABBen were successful again in Heidelberg and Ladenburg!

Two years of pandemic and no race!

But many clubs started the year 2022 full of hope and like these clubs, 2022 was a great finding successful year for our DRAGHEnknABBen.

With partly experienced and partly new Gewe were more successful than ever before and the atmosphere has never been so consistently positive as it was this year. In the training sessions beforehand as well as during the race days, all the dragon boys were energetically together - great!

Unexpected and phenomenal results were delivered in Heidelberg and Ladenburg. The togetherness and being together was as if the Corona period had never existed... our warmth, this sincerity, this wonderful partnership and joy!

Added to this were times that have never been reached before! In Ladenburg, we DraHEnknABBen made it into the semi-finals for the second time. We were third there, but overall we saw that we took 4th place overall and basically only lost to the later overall winners and overall runners-up in this run. The very best was - we beat the dragon boat series winners CGB Legends, who came in honorably in 5th place :-)

It was even better in Heidelberg before. At the end there was a great 2nd place for our team and we once again held a great dragon boat trophy in our hands.

The first launch was in Heidelberg on July 2nd. Still a little nervous before the first race in 2022, the DraHEnknABBen started the first heat with the second best time. This year there was no wind and hardly any current, except for something in the middle. With this terrific start, the whole team was so motivated to roll and so the DraHEnknABBen got further and further in the tournament. In the end, they didn't lack much and just barely missed the trophy. Nevertheless, a narrowly won and strong 2nd place with which everyone could be satisfied.

This great feeling was then taken to Ladenburg two weeks later. And the mood was great! In the first heat, the fifth fastest time of all dragon boat teams in the mixed category (at least 6 women have to paddle in the boat). The great supporting program provided drinks and food and a good atmosphere and so our team made it to 5th place in Summer of both heats. For the first time, our DraCHenknABBen didn't have to go into a qualifying run on Sunday to make it into the quarter-finals.

Our times got better and better and that's how it happened that in the semi-finals we finished fourth, despite the headwind and little current. Our best placement in Ladenburg so far!

So we can sum up that the year 2022 was very successful for our dragon boat team and the planning for next year's races is already underway. The dates in Ladenburg and Heidelberg will be announced on our website.
