Delegate Assembly 2021

Delegate Assembly 2021

Hello dear delegates, dear members of our ABB Betriebssport eV,

Due to the current development of the pandemic, the fifth delegates' meeting took place on April 17th, 2021 again in digital form via MS Teams.

A total of 84% of the members of the company sport were represented by the participation of 14 delegates from the locations, whereby the quorum for the association was fulfilled and formally confirmed.

At this point, a big thank you to all participants for their lively participation!

The meeting began with a look back at 2020. Due to the pandemic-related switch to initially digital offers, the sports offer at the various locations was severely restricted.

Despite everything, the number of members is steadily increasing and amounted to 1300 at the end of last year through employees of ABB, Hitachi ABB and external members.

From 2021, the extended board of ABB Betriebssports eV will grow by one more person. At the delegates' meeting, Ralf Schäffer from the ABB Minden site was confirmed as a member of the extended board. Again a warm welcome!

Another main point of the meeting was the decision to change or adapt both the name of the association and the statutes. The joint venture Hitachi ABB Power Grids will change its legal entity name and therefore the name and statutes of the association should also be adjusted, which is why the approval of the delegates was formally confirmed in the assembly. A final club name has not yet been determined, which is why suggestions are still welcome.

Please send your suggestion here: info@abb-betriebssport.de

The statutes with the changes have been prepared and approved and can then be submitted with the new name.

Here is a brief preview of the year 2021:

The sports offers will hopefully be resumed in the 3rd or 4th quarter. However, this statement is purely speculative and should be treated with caution in view of the further development of the pandemic. However, we think that some outdoor sports can start earlier and the indoor sports with the approval of the municipal sports facility regulations and clubs.

The association will expand communication and public relations work in 2021. intensify. Targeted information about the association and its offers should also be made available when onboarding new employees.

Large sporting events cannot be planned in these uncertain times, which is why the 2021 sports festival will not be pursued further in the planning either. Spontaneous, possible offers are communicated early on on the website and among all members.

Even if the pandemic restricts the work of the club, the company sport eV is constantly developing. Let's continue to progress so intensively and get through this time well.

Best regards

your board

Frank, Hans-Georg, Jürgen, Ralf and York
