Assembly of delegates 2022

Hello dear delegates, dear members of our association - now "BSG ABB & Hitachi Energy eV",

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the sixth delegates' meeting took place on January 29th, 2022 in digital form via MS Teams.

A total of 86% of the members of the company sport were represented by the participation of the delegates of the locations, whereby the quorum for the association was fulfilled and formally confirmed.

At this point, a big thank you to all participants for their lively participation!

At the beginning of the meeting, we looked back at the year 2021. Due to the situation caused by the pandemic, it was a somewhat sad, yet proud, look back. On the one hand, the possibilities for company sports activities have been severely restricted, especially in the rooms, as have the free spaces due to municipal or national regulations for sports activities outdoors - and yet we have been able to largely maintain our sports groups. There are declines at various locations and we will pay particular attention to that when the pandemic is over.

Despite everything, the number of members remained constant at a high level and at the end of last year was still around 1300 by employees of ABB, Hitachi Energy Germany and external members.

From 2022, the extended board will grow by one more person. At the delegates' meeting, Iris Over from the Hitachi site in Bad Honnef was confirmed as a member of the extended board. Again a warm welcome!

A main point of the meeting was the final confirmation and formal implementation of the name change. In this way we do justice to the fact that we can appear on a sporting level as ABB or Hitachi Energy at the locations and as a joint BSG in the Rhine-Neckar region. We find this to be a very good solution and ensures the continued existence of grown sports groups.

Here is a brief preview of the year 2022:

The sports offers will be resumed from the 2nd quarter and then increasingly in the summer. We will support all activities and will gradually support the locations where it may also be necessary to rebuild or start again. We are aware of that.

The association will expand the new website in 2022 and switch off the old website at a suitable time.

We are not yet able to plan major sporting events and joint overarching sporting activities. We hope to be able to discuss this point at the 2023 delegates' meeting.

Even if the pandemic restricts the work of the association, our association is developing. We learn to exercise even in these times with minimal opportunities. Let's continue to progress so intensively and get through this time well.
